Travelling is more than going to some place and visiting museums, buildings and monuments your guide tells you have to see. So choosing to go to the most bizarre, unusual and weird places is a great way of travelling following your own path and showing your uniqueness.
A real intriguing place is located in the island of St. Helena, in the south Atlantic Ocean. We’re talking about Jacob’s Ladder, in Jamestown. It is known to be the world’s longest straight staircase, with its 699 steps, and it was built in 1829 to transport goods from the farming areas downtown; it was also used for transportation of manure out of town.
Jacob’s Ladder is really a sight, even if it’s not a walk to be taken by everyone: the steps are pretty high and in some spots there are no railings to hold on.
