They live. And they’re watching you

by Independent Staff

Timm Schneider is a young German designer/artist born in 1983. His nickname is Ich Bin Kong and he’s getting attention for his funny, crazy and innovative works.

One of his latest projects is called They Live and it developed in the form of “urban intervention”. Basically Ich Bin Kong made many sets of fake Styrofoam eyballs (reminiscent of the Cookie Monster) and used them to give eyes and  funny expressions to common objects we see every day in the street and in places we visit. A cup of Starbucks coffee, a trash can, a mailbox, a wc, a trail of yummy food… pretty much anything.

The meaning of the project is simple and noble: giving people a smile by putting Styrofoam eyes on static objects.

Enjoy!
