World famous dj and dubstep producer Skrillex teamed with the remaining members of iconic rock band The Doors; the result is a track called “Breakin’ A Sweat”.
The song is featured in a documentary called Re:Generation - a movie featuring five djs who revolutioned the history of contemporary music: DJ Premier, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, Pretty Lights and The Crystal Method – and a video clip of the collaboration has been released on the Internet.
“Breakin’ A Sweat” features Ray Manzarek (keyboards), Robbie Krieger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums) – the surviving Doors, whose singer Jim Morrison died in 1971.
According to Manzarek, Morrison would have been completely on board with the idea, if he was still here: “He’d love it. He was no purist. His words were his mileau. He might be, ‘Don’t f–k with my words,’ but he’d be open for all kind of improvisations. He loved that stuff”.
