Mariama Rafetna Primus is an artist, writer and entrepreneur from Brooklyn, NY. She was raised in an artistic home which continually fostered and inspired her creativity. After studying Psychology and Creative Writing at Hunter College, her strong passion for media and marketing became even more pronounced.

Mariama is the founder of her own small media shop called 5ive30 Media, where she produces websites, offers copy writing and design services to local businesses and brands. In 2005, she also founded T.O.U.R. Online Magazine – a music website, which is presently on hiatus.

And about her art/project: the working title of this collection is Rafetna which means “She is Beautiful/ It is indeed Beautiful” in the Senegalese language of Wolof. Her art revolves around finding and sharing your voice, claiming your place in the world and being comfortable with the experience of life in all its aspects. Most of all finding and celebrating the beauty of life wherever it may be.
