LCD Soundsystem’s last gig is a movie

by Independent Staff

It’s official: Sundance has announced that the festival will be screening the documentary Sut Up and Play The Hits, a movie directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, chronicling last ever LCD Soundsystem show (the ona at Madison Square Garden, last April).

The Sundance site describes the movie this way: “A documentary that follows LCD Soundsystem front man James Murphy over a crucial 48-hour period, from the day of their final gig at Madison Square Garden to the morning after, the official end of one of the best live bands in the world“.

Sut Up and Play The Hits will be part of Sundance’s non-competition ”Spotlight” category. And, for trivias’ lovers, the film’s title comes from Arcade Fire‘s Win Butler.
