Toronto producer The Weeknd – aka Abel Tesfaye – has released a new nine-track mixtape called Echoes of Silence and it can be freely downloaded.

Year 2011 has been crucial for him, gaining praise just releasing two mixtapes (House Of Balloons and Thursday). As it’s been said: “he has had an insidious effect on new music without ever troubling the record racks“.

The new free download mixtape is available now and it features a few surprises. Fellow rising talent – and mixtape fan – Clams Casino works with The Weeknd on ‘The Fall’; and the whole collection opens with a rendition of the Michael Jackson classic “Dirty Diana”.
