Portland’s (Oregon) alt rock/indie rock heavyweights The Dandy Warhols announced an upcoming album. Their ninth full length studio work will be called This Machine and it’s due out next april.
This Machine follows their 2009 The Dandy Warhols Are Sound, which actually was the release of the original mix of The Dandy Warhols’ 2003 studio album Welcome to the Monkey House.
No details have been unveiled by the band, at the moment; anyway last year, during their Australian tour, they performed for the first time two new songs called “Rest Your Head” and “The Wow Signal”. Obviously it’s not sure if those will be on the record, but it’s not unlikely.
In the meantime, the band announced the dates of their spring tour; here they are:
04/14 – Bergen, NO @ Ole Bull
04/15 – Oslo, NO @ Rockefeller
04/18 – Dublin, IE @ Vicar St.

The Dandy Warhols started in the underground scene and had a strong bond with the cult band Brian Jonestown Massacre; when they signed to Capitol and released …The Dandy Warhols Come Down (1997) they became really popular and their relationship with Brian Jonestown Massacre deteriorated.
The band had a big boost in fame when their track “Bohemian Like You” was used in a spot for a huge telephone company in 2001, but after that they kept a relatively low profile and regained the freedom and independence they had given away signing with a major.
