365 portraits in 365 days

by Independent Staff

Alex Stoddard is only seventeen, but he already shows an exceptional talent as a photographer.

His project of taking – and publishing on Flickr – 365 portraits in 365 days is really a work of art; and the beauty of the photographs makes up for the fact that Alex actually took more than 365 days to complete the task (since he skipped days now and then: but, come on… he’s a teenager, after all, and this is what teenagers do).

Alex’s portraits are creative, showing great taste and personality in the composition of every shot.

The young photographer talked about his 365 project, in an interview published by My Modern Net: “Each photo tells a story of its own whether I am aware of it or not. I think it’s just how things fall into place when I organize a shoot. Sometimes I’m subconsciously bringing in little details, a certain shirt, prop, location, and I don’t even know that there is a story there until it’s there. I consider myself boring, so I wouldn’t dream of shooting only photos of myself in regular clothes in boring places. Instead, I try to become someone else, somewhere else, because anything is better than being just me“.
